The Rives du Bisse estate was founded in 1945 by Gaby Delaloye. Although a teacher by trade, Delaloye was a winemaker’s son and was passionate about wine and the vine, so he soon began forging a new career as a winemaker and vintner. Over the years, his business grew until he was able to give up teaching altogether.
Gaby’s son Jean-Pierre helped his father with administration and cellar work from 1963, whilst the latter continued to look after the winemaking side of the business.
Today, the future of Rives du Bisse is assured by the third and fourth generations. Jean-Pierre’s son Jean-Gabriel takes care of the winegrowing while daughter Pascale has taken over administration and sales. Mathias, Jean-Gabriel’s son and the fourth generation of the family, is in charge of maturation and cellar work.
It is this close collaboration between the generations that guarantees high-quality, environmentally friendly products. The entire estate is worked according to the criteria of integrated production (Vinatura).
Jeannine, Jean-Pierre’s wife, has been the restaurant representative for Rives du Bisses wines since 1980.
The estate has been a public limited company since 1994 and is still run entirely by the family.
