About the winery
Joseph Bruchez first entered his winery in the Valais Commercial Registry in 1912. After emigrating from his native Val de Bagnes, he had decided to start selling his own wines while also looking after the vines at the priory of Lens. He set up his own winery in Vaas, a small winemaking hamlet in the municipality of Lens.
Joseph’s son Henri took over the family business in 1945 and continued to develop it, eventually transforming it into a public limited company in 1963. In 1979, Henri’s son-in-law, Guy Rey, was appointed director of Vins Bruchez SA. Guy’s familiarity with the latest technologies allowed him to make significant improvements to the wine-making process while respecting the family’s cherished traditions.
In 2005, Guy’s son, Sébastien Rey, joined the company after two years of oenological training at Changins Engineering School. Over the next fifteen years, Sébastien continued to skilfully and dynamically develop the business.
Patrick Le Carré, a qualified wine engineer, took over the management and running of the winery in 2020. Faithful to its traditions, he will ensure its development and lead it into a promising future.
